Reading to your children.
When reading to your little ones. Read with energy, read with emphasis, read with learning in mind. Have your child label characters, animals, and items. Ask them questions regarding what has happened, what’s happening, and what might happen next. Predicting is a vital skill to learn. Teach it early. Maybe even how they would change the ending. Reading to your children, creates readers themselves. Remember the old saying “Do what I say, not what I do”. (Yeah, good luck with that.) Show them what fun reading is, by enjoying a good book for yourself.
